What are the benefits of a HTMA?
Hair samples provide us with a historical look at mineral levels within the tissues of the body. This enables us to gain an understanding of how major health factors are impacting our ability to utilise minerals inside the cells such as; stress levels, nutrient absorption, nervous system health, adrenal function, thyroid function and blood sugar. The mineral ratios and levels identified in the test tell us what's going on at a cellular level, and we can use that information to see how it's impacting the skin.
Can I get a refund?
No, this offer is non-refundable. Once the test is ordered it cannot be undone.
How do I take the hair sample?
You take the sample from new virgin root growth closest to the scalp. It has to be untreated/uncoloured hair, and you take it from areas that are not obvious such as nape of the neck, back of head, behind the ears. You need about 1 tsp of hair for the sample 1 inch in length. Proper hair scissors are advised to make the hair cutting easier.
What if my hair is coloured/treated?
Wait for new hair growth, once you have an inch you're good to go.
Does HTMA also look at heavy metals?
Yes it does, however what we are looking at primarily in hair is how the body excretes metals from the body as a form of detoxification. If you're seeing high levels of excreted metals you're best to follow up with a blood test to check blood levels, this is because hair levels are not a reflection of what's in the bloodstream.
When will my HTMA be ordered?
Your test will be ordered on weekdays Mon-Fri between 9am-5:30pm. Therefore, if you purchase this package on a Friday after 5:30pm your test will be ordered Monday morning.
Can't I order a HTMA test myself?
Yes, you order HTMA tests without a practitioner, but you are probably going to have a tough time interpreting the results and knowing what actions to take to restore balance. With this personalise support you'll have clear answers and action steps to take.
Can I participate in this if I am pregnant/breast feeding or on medications?
Yes, you can. Always check with your doctor before taking anything new when pregnant/breast feeding and medicated.
Can I use the ends of my hair?
No, it must be new hair growth so we can access information about your most recent mineral status i.e. the last 2-3 months.
Can I order the package if I live outside the UK?
No this service is not global as this time.
How long will it take to get my results and plan?
You should expect to wait 3-4 weeks. This is to allow the lab time to report the results, and Charlotte time to interpret the results and create your plan.
